Hotel Review: Pan Pacific Hotel Vancouver

The Pan Pacific Hotel Vancouver is located on the edge of Vancouver Harbour in Vancouver's CBD. The hotel offers a range of rooms and suites with city and harbour views, there are also club rooms and suites which give you access to the club lounge offering complimentary breakfast in addition to pre-dinner drinks and hors d'oeuvres. We decided to stay here before our train trip across Canada as we would earn Virgin Australia Velocity points with Pan Pacific. You can read more about that trip here.
The Room
We booked a Pacific Club Harbour room and were certainly impressed with the view, the room was spacious with lots of cupboard space and a large bathroom. Our only issue with the room was that the design of the bathroom meant that water would spill from the shower enclosure across the bathroom floor wetting the bath mat on the floor. The bedding was comfortable with high quality sheets and feather pillows, we had a really good nights sleep.
Customer Service
The staff throughout the hotel were friendly and provided excellent service for the duration of our stay. The club concierge went out of his way to make sure that we were happy with everything and made sure we knew that if we needed anything at all he was there to help.
Club Service
We headed to the club lounge for hors d'oeuvres and drinks before we headed out for our evening on the town. There was lots of cold and hot offerings from cured meats and cheeses through to spring rolls and dim sims. The drink offerings were beer and wine as well as soft drinks and juice. In the morning there was a buffet breakfast set up as well as tea, coffee and juice.
Hotel Facilities
The hotel has a large outdoor swimming pool and hot tub surrounded by sun loungers with one of the best views of Vancouver Harbour. As it was early spring when we stayed at the hotel it was too cold to use the pool or sit out on the sun lounges but we would imagine it would be well utilised during the Canadian summers. There is also a fitness club and day spa which we didn't get time to use.
Summary
This hotel has great facilities, excellent staff and amazing views over Vancouver harbour. We would recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Vancouver especially if your a Velocity Frequent Flyer and want to earn points on your stay.
