The Emporium Hotel South Bank is located on Grey Street in South Brisbane, it's location is within close walking distance of the Queensland Performing Arts Centre (QPAC), The Queensland Museum, South Bank Parklands and South Banks many restaurants. The hotel offers a range of suites from Vista Suites and River City Suites through to The Emporium Suite and Poolside Cabana Suites. We were able to book this hotel through Virgin Holidays which allowed us to earn Velocity points on our stay.

The Room

We were excited to see our River City Suite as the River City Suites have their own private open air balconette that overlooks the Brisbane River and CBD. As you enter the room the window curtains automatically draw back like theatre curtains revealing the amazing river city views from the balconette, the room features a Sealy Dynasty king size bed, couch, dining table, chair and desk. There is also a hand made bronze wet bar which features a mini bar, eurocave wine fridge and coffee machine. The large marble bathroom features a large bath tub, seperate shower and toilet and a basin vanity area, the glass window between the bedroom and the bathroom can be changed from clear to frosted with the press of a button for privacy. The bathroom features Molten Brown toiletries and has the same opulent feel as the rest of the room with black and white marble throughout. We loved the boutique feel of the room and the amazing views from the balconette where we enjoyed our room service breakfast.

Customer Service

We found the customer service exceptional and could not fault the service at all. We love the personalised feel we received from the staff and would have to say that it is probably the best service we have received in a hotel in Australia. The lobby staff were very helpful and friendly, the room service staff were amazing as were the staff at the roof top bar.

Restaurants & Bars

We booked a balcony table at the The Terrace Roof Top Bar in the evening with its amazing views, on weekends only hotel guests are allowed to book tables and we were glad that we did as it was very busy, we enjoyed the food, drinks and of course the view. Unfortunately we did not get time to try the hotels 2 restaurants but based on the menus we saw the food looks to be excellent. We ordered room service late night and for breakfast during our stay, the food was delicious and delivered quickly after it was ordered. Overall we were very happy with the food and beverages offered by the hotel and would highly recommend the Terrace Roof Top Bar to anyone visiting South Bank.

Hotel Facilities

The hotel features an infinity edge pool next to The Terrace Roof Top Bar with amazing views over the Brisbane River & CBD, there is also a steam room, sauna and plunge pool as well as a day spa and beauty salon.

Summary

As mentioned we were very happy with the food, drinks and service that the hotel provided. The room was opulent, contemporary, tidy and had an amazing view. The hotel is also within walking distance of many of the nearby attractions so you cant beat its location. We would highly recommend the Emporium Hotel South Bank and it's amazing rooftop bar to anyone looking to stay in South Bank and will definitely visit again in the future.
